Construction Industry Bouncing Back Amidst the Economic Downturn

Building firms across the country continue to prosper after lockdown which is great news for working at height professionals across the UK. Most construction firms have stated that the government’s reduction in stamp duty on the sale of new homes has dramatically sped up the house buying process.

Duncan Brock, Cips’ group director said “The largest blot on the landscape was the number of redundancies and job shedding reported by construction firms, though builders remained relatively cheerful about the next 12 months.”
Construction workers can also expect a huge boost from the government too. As part of the government plan to deliver upgrades to local infrastructure and boost skills to help trigger a green economic recovery. Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick announced that the government were approving thousands of infrastructure and housing projects with a huge £1.3 billion investment. The purpose of the investment is to generate 45,000 new homes and create 85,000 jobs. It’s the perfect time to be working at height in the construction industry.
